Maria DeRush and Pastor Jeff have been discussing starting up Stephen Ministry here at Christ Lutheran Church.  Below is a message from Maria inviting you to join her in this ministry.  

 

Dear friends, I invite you to join me in a journey of sharing Christ’s Mercy to others in their time of need. Stephen Ministry ministers are trained to come alongside a person after a time of loss, perhaps the loss of a loved one, loss of a job, or loss of a marriage. I am a trained Stephen Minister and a trainer of Stephen Ministers. If you have the gift of compassion and empathy, Stephen Ministry will train you to use Christian caregiving tools to help bear another’s burden and uplift them in their time of need. If you are unsure about how to help someone during a difficult time in their life, rest assured, Stephen Ministry will fully equip you with the knowledge, skills and tools you need to become a Christian caregiver. If you have been previously trained as a Stephen Minister, consider joining in the training; the curriculum was updated in 2020. My hope is to start the training at the beginning of next year.
